Is Microchanneling good for your face?

Patient receiving Microchanneling treatment | Skin Design Aesthetics | Pembroke, MA

Treatments for skin rejuvenation, like microneedling and micro channeling, make significant changes to the skin. At Skin Design Aesthetics, our board-certified uses innovative micro channeling technology to fix flaws like dry skin, visible pores, scars, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation.

These procedures help the body make more collagen and blood vessels, which improves the skin’s firmness and texture and reduces acne scars, large pores, and even stretch marks.

Here are a few details about this treatment to understand if Micro channeling is suitable for your face. Check it out here in this post.

What is Micro channeling?

Micro channeling, a collagen induction therapy, can significantly affect your skin’s appearance. It is a non-invasive procedure that is similar to microneedling. It stimulates your body’s natural ability to make collagen, elastin, and other skin-building proteins.

Micro channeling can help your body’s natural processes get going faster by stimulating the top layers of skin. When collagen and communication levels go up, the skin gets thicker and looks younger with little downtime.

It is also often used to treat scars from acne, surgery, or stretch marks. Scars get better when the old tissue is broken down, and new, healthier skin grows in its place. When combined with cutting-edge growth factor serums, healing is faster, and signs of aging are less likely to appear in the future.

Normally, Micro channeling is done in three steps:

  1. Micro-needles make micro-channels. Uniform microchannels are made when precise micro-needles are tapped into the skin.
  2. Each microchannel is surrounded by healthy tissue, which speeds up the healing process. When a micro-injury happens, an inflammatory healing process starts, which starts the process of making new collagen.
  3. Over time, the repeated healing process will build new collagen, which will make the skin healthier, improve the texture of the surface, and make the skin look better all around.

Micro channeling Facial at Skin Design Aesthetics

During micro channeling, a custom Skin Design serum is put into the skin using a stamp with 20 needles with 24k gold tips. This serum mixes hyaluronic acid, neuromodulators, skin brighteners, vitamins, and nutrients that tighten, brighten, hydrate, and firm the skin.

Our micro channeling also helps your body make more collagen, making lines, wrinkles, texture, acne scars, and pigment last longer. We suggest booking this treatment 1-2 weeks before an event for tight, glowing skin lasting 6-8 weeks!

Who Can Benefit From Micro channeling?

Micro-channeling skincare treatments are safe for people of all ages and skin types and don’t hurt very much. No matter what color your skin is or how often you break out.

If your micro channeling treatments are done right, you won’t get hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or any other long-term side effects. People who want to improve in the following areas are good candidates:

  • Acne scars
  • Small lines and creases
  • Anti-aging or skin tightening
  • Too much skin color (sun spots)
  • Reduce the size of pores
  • Rosacea
  • Scars from stretch marks or other injuries
  • Growing hair

Microneedling and Micro channeling

The main differences between micro channeling and microneedling are the type of tool and the method used to treat the skin. A microneedling device is a small roller with tiny needles on it that are dragged over the skin. The skin can be torn by this method.

Instead, the micro channeling device uses a linear stamping to make clean and uniform channels. Because there is less damage to the tissue, there is less inflammation and a lot less pain for the client. Less downtime means less inflammation. When compared to microneedling, which can take days to heal, microchanneling usually only takes 60–90 minutes to heal.

What to look forward to after treatment

You might have some mild swelling or redness for a day after treatment. It could take up to two months for your collagen and elastin levels to rise to the point where you can see changes in your skin’s health and look.

You might want to schedule follow-up sessions every four to six weeks for the best results. Many people need between three and six treatments to reach their goals.

How much does it cost to use microneedles or microchannels?

The cost of microneedling or microchanneling will depend on which procedures you choose and how many areas you want to treat. During your first appointment, doctors will look at your skin and make a treatment plan just for you.

Then, one of our staff members will explain how much your treatment will cost.

How many times will I need to see a doctor?

Micro channeling has been shown to improve skin quality after just one treatment. We suggest a series of six treatments about once a month to improve your skin’s firmness, smoothness, elasticity, hydration, sensitivity, tone, wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, age spots/sun spots, laxity, and stretch marks.

Does it hurt?

Most people can do the procedure without numbing cream and without feeling any pain because it doesn’t hurt that much. No pain lasts, and we have several ways to make treatment as comfortable as possible. Most people say that their skin feels tight after the surgery.

My skin is red and itchy. Can I use moisturizer?

Treatments are typical for irritating skin, especially for people with sensitive skin. Before putting anything else on the skin, you should always wait at least 90 minutes.

Usually, the skin stays pink or light red during this time. You can put on more moisturizer or other products after 90 minutes. Remember, though, that your skin may be more sensitive than usual for a few days after the treatment.

You should avoid using strong topicals until your skin returns to normal.

How long until I should see results?

Making new collagen can take a few weeks, but it’s normal for your skin to look and feel better within the first 24 hours.

After two or three treatments, a collagen-filled cellular matrix that is thicker and stronger will lead to a more consistent and noticeable improvement. And scars, loose skin, and wrinkles might need six or more treatments.
