INJECTABLES
Sculptra
Sculptra is a collagen stimulating injectable made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that works with your body to restore the skin’s structure and volume. Collagen is a natural protein in our body that provides strength, support and structure to not just the skin, but muscle, bones and connective tissue. When it comes to the skin, collagen production starts to slow by our mid-to-late 20’s/early 30’s and we start to lose 1-1.5% of collagen yearly. This results in facial volume loss, the appearance of lines/wrinkles and the loss of skin vibrancy.
Sculptra is an FDA approved injectable that stimulates production of your own collagen, resulting in a subtle, refined correction of lines/wrinkles, increase in overall facial volume and improvement in the appearance of the skin. This provides for a natural, overall facial rejuvenation that can last 2-3 years. Most patients require 2-3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart to obtain optimal results.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Sculptra Made Of?
Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA).
How Does Sculptra Work?
When Sculptra (PLLA) is injected, the microparticles are absorbed and used by the body in the deep dermis to boost collagen production and improve your skin’s strength and structure. This helps to restore facial volume, improve wrinkles/folds and the overall appearance of the skin.
How Much Sculptra Will I Need?
This varies patient to patient, but most need 1-2 vials per treatment, 2-3 treatments total. Treatments are spaced 4-8 weeks apart.
How Soon Will I See Results From Sculptra?
Results are usually noticeable about 6 weeks after treatment, with peak results at 3 months. Results do become cumulative with ongoing treatments.
How Long Does Sculptra Last?
Sculptra treatments last 2-3+ years. Depending on the patient, we recommend yearly maintenance of 1-2 vials.
What Are The Side Effects Of Sculptra?
The most common side effects are bruising, swelling, some soreness/tenderness and redness.
Is There Downtime After Receiving Sculptra?
There is no downtime, but there are some rules you should follow. You should avoid strenuous exercise, saunas/steam rooms, swimming and makeup on the treatment area for at least 48 hours. Otherwise, you will be able to return to most of your normal, daily activities. We also recommend you receive treatment at least 2 weeks before any major event (ie: wedding, family photos, etc.) if you are concerned about social downtime.
What Is The Aftercare For Sculptra?
You will need to massage the treatment area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days in order to properly disperse the Sculptra molecules.
Are Sculptra Injections Painful?
We apply topical anesthetic prior to treatment to help reduce discomfort.
When Should I Start Receiving Sculptra?
If you are starting to notice volume loss, lines/wrinkles or a loss in skin vibrancy, Sculptra may be a treatment option for you. We recommend scheduling a consultation to discuss your aesthetic goals and create your personalized treatment plan.
What Is The Difference Between Dermal Filler And Sculptra?
There are many differences, but the biggest is how they work in the body. After hyaluronic acid fillers are injected, results are seen immediately and last 6-12+ months. Sculptra works by working with your body to produce collagen. This process takes time and results are more gradual, but can last upwards of 3 years.
