Botox/Dysport
Botox and Dysport are FDA-approved medications to treat lines and wrinkles for a smooth and refreshed look. They are also fantastic options to prevent lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place and etching into the skin. Often called “wrinkle relaxers,” Botox and Dysport work by temporarily reducing muscle contraction and movement, significantly improving the lines and wrinkles associated with that movement. Commonly treated areas include lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines and crow’s feet.
These medications can also be used to weaken certain muscles, which can help improve your smile, slim the face and treat TMJ dysfunction (clenching, grinding and associated headaches). Dosing will vary and be tailored to your individual needs and goals. The procedure is quick, comfortable and requires no downtime. Results from neuromodulators can be seen as soon as 2 days after treatment and generally lasts 3-4 months.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Does Botox/Dysport Work?
Botox and Dysport prevent muscle contraction by blocking signals between the nerves and muscles.
How Does Decreasing Muscle Movement Improve Lines And Wrinkles?
One of the most significant causes of lines and wrinkles is muscle movement. When the facial muscles move and contract, the overlying skin folds and creases creating unwanted lines and wrinkles. Over time and with ongoing movement, those lines and wrinkles will deepen and worsen. Botox and Dysport can help treat those lines and wrinkles seen with movement, as well as soften lines at rest.
How Many Units Will I Need?

Effects from Botox or Dysport can be seen 3-5 days after treatment, with peak effect at 2 weeks.
How Long Will Botox Or Dysport Results Last?
Results last 3-4 months.
What Are The Side Effects Of Botox Or Dysport?
Side effects are usually minimal and transient, but may include swelling/bruising at the injection site as well as a mild headache.
What Is The Downtime For Botox Or Dysport?
There is no downtime! Just 4 hours of no makeup on the treatment area, laying down/flat or wearing a hat on the treatment area. We also recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and/or facials for at least 24 hours after treatment.
Are Botox/Dysport Injections Painful?
The needle is very small and will feel nothing more than a slight pinprick.
What Is The Difference Between Botox And Dysport?
Both are FDA approved medications for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, although there are slight differences in their molecular makeup. Dysport does tend to kick in faster than Botox, with results being seen 2-3 days sooner for some patients. Both are shown to last 3-4 months in studies. Usually it comes down to a matter of preference.
When Should I Start Receiving Botox Or Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are both corrective and preventative, meaning they can treat lines and wrinkles that have already formed as well as prevent lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place. There is no specific age or exact time to start- everyone is different. If you think you’re ready for treatment, schedule a consultation and let’s discuss in person.
